A bridge is essentially a false tooth or teeth that fill the empty space where a tooth or teeth were once rooted. Unlike dentures or partial dentures, it is fused to the teeth on either side of the gap and cannot be removed like dentures.
A cantilever is another type of bridge that can be used in other areas of the mouth where the teeth are under less stress. These are typically used when there are teeth only on one side of the open space.
Our dentists will assess the spacing of your teeth as well as any remaining gaps left from lost teeth, and determine what type of bridge will work best for you. If you are missing teeth and have good oral hygiene practices, we can discuss the many bridge options available to you. Contact our office today to set up an appointment. We’re here to help.
